About 

Olwen Yappa is an award winning, dedicated Visual Artist with a decorated background in a variety of artistic mediums. She is highly experienced in illustration and sculpture. Adept at working both independently and collaboratively on projects, and committed to achieving visual innovation and beauty.

​She is passionate about theatre and live performance and has experience both on stage and off. She has previously worked with a range of established companies. Notably, the Irish National Opera in which she worked as a makeup artist and Stage Hand in the company’s 2024 rendition of “Rigoletto”. She has additionally worked on productions with Splodar Theatre company, Rabbit’s Riot and RIAM, in which she performed a number of roles including makeup artist/ Character Designer and Props manager.

 

Olwen has also participated in various projects such as short films and parade work with well known events like Macnas’ annual halloween parade and the annual immersive horror experience the Nightmare 

Olwen also has training and experience in special effects Makeup. Having worked on multiple roles in short film projects such as “Fantasia Greensleeves” and TV pilots such as “Benighted Entries”. In which she utilised a variety of SFX skills.
